Donald A. Mills, Hopewell: It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Don on May 9, 2016 with family by his side. Born Aug. 9, 1928 in Hopewell, Pictou County, son of the late Frank and Mary (Chisholm) Mills. He was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church, Hopewell, NS. Donald worked for the CNR for 32 years. He enjoyed bowling, lunches at the East Side Restaurant and watching Blue Jays baseball. He is survived by a son Larry (Theresa), Foxbrook; daughter Patsy Mills, Dartmouth; granddaughter Melissa Jardine (David), Trenton; grandson Matthew Mills, Bedford; great-grandchildren Kaylee, Desarae, Noah, and Benjamin who he loved dearly; brothers John Selwyn (Barbara), NB and Albert (Shirley), NB; step-nephew Raymond Jordan, Riverton. He was predeceased by his wife the former Joan B. Williams, sister Vera Tong (Mills) a brother Clayton Mills and sister-in-law Azora Mills. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton. Funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Friday in First Presbyterian Church, Hopewell with Rev. Bonnie Langille officiating. Internment will be in MacLean Cemetery, Elgin. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Donald may be made to Pictou County VON, Canadian Cancer Society the Aberdeen Palliative Care Unit or a charity of your choice.
