Obituary of Donald Lambert Uhren

Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts  we announce the passing of Donald Lambert Uhren 73 of Plymouth Pictou County.

Born in New Glasgow Donnie was a son of the late Frank (Ike) and Edna (Brinkman) Uhren of Stellarton.

Donnie retired from Via Rail with 35 years service and for 5 years after he delivered parts for Car Quest where he couldn’t believe they paid him for having such a great gig!  He was an avid bowler,  loved all sports especially his beloved “Red Wings” and Gordie Howe.  Old time country music, bird watching , taking a sail with the Captain  without ever leaving dry land,  and red wine  were his pleasures .  Donnie had a sweet, kind and gentle nature, loved  and was proud of his family and  a friend to all.  His best bud Rio is nursing a broken heart and looking for his dad.

He is survived by his wife,  Susan (MacLeod), sons Jody (Mallory Scott) Tatamagouche and Blake (Carla MacLellan) and stepdaughter Serenity Betts, New Glasgow.  Donnie loved all kids and was a proud “Grampy” to Luke,Lexi, Bentley,  Max and Scarlett.

Donnie is also survived by brothers Robert, Toronto and Kenny, Calgary

Special thanks to Rachael MacDonald,  Palliative Care Community Nurse and her team of Pictou County Home Care  who made the journey so  easy for us.
