Phyllis Gray-Oliver, Stellarton It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Phyllis Gray-Oliver on Saturday March 13th at the Aberdeen Hospital. Born on Jan 16th, 1933, she is the only child of the late Alexander and Muriel Lorimar, Stellarton, NS. Phyllis trained as an RN, and moved to a managerial position. She retired from the Aberdeen Hospital after 33 years of faith full service. She was a long time member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Stellarton and also taught C.G.I.T. at the United Church. Though out her life, Phyllis was known as a strong, outgoing woman who was much loved, she loved to entertain, had a wonderful sense of humour and brought joy to those around her. Her kindness to her friends and family will always be remembered. Besides her parents, Phyllis was pre-deceased by her first husband Alvin Gray and by her second husband Howard Oliver, as well as her Aunts Margie Cummings and Bess Irving and cousin Vivian Thompson and step daughter Judy Oliver. She is survived by her niece Marjie Rafase, and her nephews Derek (Pam) Thompson, Terry (Judy) Thompson, and Jack (Lise) Thompson, as well as Howard’s family. Also left to mourn are many friends including special friends Jane and Munroe Fraser who were so kind to her. With Phyllis’s declining health, she moved to Valley View Villa in 2012, The family would like to thank the staff for their kindness and caring to Phyllis over the years. She will be sadly missed by all. May she rest in peace. As to Phyllis’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 2pm in the Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating.
