Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Kennedy

Elizabeth Ann Kennedy: Abercrombie Elizabeth Ann Kennedy age 90, of Abercrombie passed away peacefully with her loving and devoted daughter by her side in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow on May 30, 2021. Born in New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late Frank Leslie and Effie Ivilla (Clyburn) MacDonald. Elizabeth has resided in Abercrombie since she was married in 1954. She met her husband Rae while working at the New Glasgow Post Office driving the Rural Route 5 mail, she also drove a school bus for Abercrombie/Granton and worked on their dairy farm. Elizabeth was a member of Trinity United Church where she was a member of the UCW. Music was a big part of her life and she was a very active Pipe Band Mom with the Heatherbells Pipe Band, very involved with The New Glasgow Ukulele Group and a violin chamber group in New Glasgow. She was also a member of the New Glasgow 55 Plus Club. After retirement she and her husband Rae travelled throughout the United States, Europe, Australia, and the Hawaiian Islands. She is survived by her children Lynn (Bonita) Kennedy, Leslie (Colleen) Kennedy, Lorna Kennedy (Brennen), Sheldon (Sandra) Kennedy; grandchildren Jefferey, Gina, Lydia, and Joseph; sister Muriel Skinner; several nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Raeburn “Rae”, sister Lydia (Graham) and brothers Paul and Alexander MacDonald. The family would like to thank personal care workers Mary, Louise, Elaine and Dayle, VON, the Doctors and Nurses, especially staff in the Palliative Care wing at the Aberdeen Hospital.
