Mom loved life and everything in it and her pride and joy were her family and all the children that surrounded her. There were no nieces, nephews, friends, etc., to Dorie they were all her children given lots of love and hugs but also discipline when needed. Anyone who dropped in to visit were greeted with a smile, tea and homemade sweets. Everyone felt welcomed and left with a smile even if the day didn’t start out that way. Dorie was an avid quilter and made quilts for all her family. She taught many a friend how to do this including her daughter Val but the baking and cooking was missed by her 2 girls known as the take-out Queens. (Sorry Girls).
