Laurence Douglas Campbell, born in New Glasgow October 29, 1945 to the late Margaret (Ross) and Lawrence Campbell. After a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s, Doug went to his rest peacefully on March 4th , 2023 with his family by his side. Doug grew up in the Garden of Eden and moved to MacLellan’s Brook to raise his family. He was employed at Scott Maritimes/ Kimberly Clark for over 30 years. Doug was a hard worker and had a great sense of humor, and loved his house full, whether it be friends, children, or animals. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rosalia Campbell (Chisholm); son Lawrence Campbell (Tori); daughter Crystal Pitts (Lyle); grandchildren Christie (Andrew), Courtney (Jack), Paige (Kiley) and Danielle (Nelson); great- grandchildren, Everly, Rory, Cohen, Parker, Elle, Lachlan, Kenley, Mila and Allie as well as many nieces and nephews; brothers Lloyd, Wayne, and Rusty (Cindy); sisters Linda (Jack) Wood, Donna (Roy) Cornett and brother-in-law Sheldon Patriquin. He was predeceased by his sisters-in-law Shirley Patriquin and Marie Campbell. Special thanks to the Valley View Villa Staff, for the many years of kindness and care. Cremation has taken place. Doug made his own arrangements many years before his illness got the best of him, and requested no visitation and that any who knew him remember the good times with a smile on his face as there were many with his friends and family all throughout the years. Spring burial will take place in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. To honor Doug’s love of animals, donations may be made to the new SPCA building currently under construction. www.angusfuneralhomes.com
