Obituary of Marion Irene Montgomery

Marion Irene Montgomery age 96, formally from Thorburn and Central West River died peacefully at Glen Haven Manor on October 4th,2024 where she resided for the past twenty years. Marion was born on August3rd,1928 the only child of Margaret (Johnstone)and Ross MacDonald. Marion was known by many for her happy go lucky spirit, her contagious laugh and her cooking. Many gatherings were held at her home in Central West River where there was always a place at the table regardless of how many. Jim and Marion loved to travel and travelled though out Canada, US and abroad. Marion was predeceased by her mother and father Margaret and Ross MacDonald, her husband’s Robertn Bennett and James Montgomery. Special thanks to the staff of Glen Haven Manor for the care Marion was provided for the past twenty years, your kindness has not gone unnoticed. Cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted to H.W. Angus Funeral Home. A graveside burial service will be held in the Thorburn Cemetery , November 7th 2024 at 11 A.M. with Mr. John Reeves officiating. Donations can be made in her memory to the Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn, the Thorburn Cemetery or to a charity of your choice.
